hello,

i wanna buy the american version of Avatar ( 'cuz it's cool) from amazon.com

to be specific: it's the 'Three-Disc Extended Collector's Edition + BD-Live'

now here's my problem: The bluray is region 1 ( so U.S. and canada only)

i bought my internal bluray reader on amazon.co.uk --> samsung SH-B123 but i live in Belgium, Europe

So does anyone know if the bluray will work on my (selfbuild) pc ???

According to this Wikipedia article, Blu Ray drives do not enforce region coding in the drive's firmware as is done with DVD's. Region coding is done by the player software. So I guess it depends on what you're using as a player.

My external ASUS blu ray player burner requires you to select the region you want the player to be. You are allowed to change it up to 5 times.
