Dual layer DVD copy issue.

Forum Storage : Optical Media Dual layer DVD copy issue.

Okay, before I say anything further, I should clarify I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition service pack 2 on a 6 year old machine with standard DVD-RW capability optical drive.

That said, I can't copy anything to a dvdr-dl. I have a whole pack of them and none of them work. Do I need an updated optical drive to use these? A driver update? A patch? Formatted discs?

You need a dual layer drive. My personal choice is Samsumg or LG. Today, a dual layer drive is about $20 - $25 at newegg.

They are a little more expensive at places like BestBuy.
