Hello,

I am looking for some advice on a Blu-ray burner. I am thinking of replacing my internal dvd-RW for my PC with a Blu-ray writer, mainly for backup reasons.

What I seek is:

* Device should read/write CD/DVD/Blu-ray

* Good quality

* Compability (Win 7 64-bit)

* Speed is not really important, I will not write often

* Low noice when idle

* Be able to write 50GB Blu-ray

I do not really know if there is other factors that should be considered, if so please let me know.

The model I have in mind is LG BH10LS30 and I want to know your opinions. Links to specification (PDF) from LG is here.

Don't know about the Blu-Ray drive. I do know that after Samsung, LG is my very, very close second choice for an optical drive.

Thanks for your reply. So this drive from LG is likely to be good?

I have this drive, but there seems to be no updated firmware form LG whatsoever. I'm having problems with certain brands of BD-R 50gb media.
