[Solved] AMD Phenom II 555 X2 and Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H

Hello, I am a noob at building PCs. I just recently built a computer with AMD Phenom II 555 X2, Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H, 4GB Kingston HyperX memory, and a radeon HD 5670 video card. I was looking at the forums, reading around about how to overclock and unlock cores. I tried unlocking the core through the directions in the forum, and Windows 7 would never boot up. I had changed the ACC and changed my EC to Hybrid. I'm guessing I either have something set wrong or my processor just can't do it. So after that I wanted to try overclocking my processor a little. My motherboard came with EasyTune6, although I read not to use it. So I go through my bios, and even after reading the overclocking article I am still confused a little. In my bios there are several options, and i'm not sure which one to play with. There is CPU clock ratio, CPU Northbridge freq, CPU Host Clock Control, and CPU frequency. I cannot figure out which one it is I am supposed to move up. I clocked my memory up from 800 to what it is supposed to be. My last question is about what I have posted below this. This is what comes up when I open CPU-Z. Do these numbers look correct for a stock 555BE X2? Is core speed 800 MHz with a multiplier of x4, and bus speed of 200 MHz correct for this chip? Any help is much appreciated!

hey is your cpu a black edition?
and you should try updating to latest bios that could fix your unlocking issue...also try raising voltage a bit if it's still unstable after the unlock...after I find out if your cpu is be or not I can help you oc...

Yeah just slightly raise the cpu voltage (also called cpu vcore) in small increments of .015v or .025v...
I'll get back to you soon with more detailed instructions on unlocking and overclocking...

well yeah if the locked cores are faulty which may be the case as you might not have gotten a good batch...
So even if you can't unlock you can still overclock it...and it will probably go high enough...

Were you able to unlock cores? I have the same board and in most guides i've seen online, our model has not been verified as supported.
