LG WH10LS30 AHCI support?

Forum Storage : Optical Media LG WH10LS30 AHCI support?

I'm building a new system for a customer with an LG WH10LS30 Blu-Ray burner. When I set the SATA controller to AHCI mode, the Blu-Ray drive is not detected at boot, and I can't install Windows 7. Setting the SATA controller to IDE mode, the drive is detected and I can boot into the Windows installer, but the installation is excruciatingly slow (a problem I have previously encountered and solved by enabling AHCI). Is the LG WH10LS30 simply not AHCI compatible or is there something I'm missing here?

System specs:
AMD Athlon II X3 415e
Corsair 2x2GB DDR3 1333
Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H
Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB
LG WH10LS30 Blu-Ray burner
Ceton InfiniTV 4 CableCARD tuner
SeaSonic SS-350ET 80+ Bronze
SilverStone GD05B HTPC case

Did you check if you had the last BIOS for your Mobo and the last firmware for your LG WH10LS30 ?
