Can one take an image of C:/ on an installed hd and move it to the ssd or do you have to load windows 7 on the ssd from the disk??? Then make the ssd the boot drive and all be ok???

I have never cloned my SSD.
I loaded win7 from install and let win7 set all configurations for me by default.
then i added my HDD's after install was completed.
configured in BIOS and then in windows management..
