I was looking for a Dell laptop and definately want a PC not a Mac. What are some that could be helpful to me as a Liberal Arts major where all I would need it for is for writing term papers and doing research on. Can anyone point me to useful but inexpensive computers

Sure. I do not know why you must limit your range of computers to just dell. ALL I stress ALL laptops on the market can do what you are looking for. My recommendation would be this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6834101180 It is a quality laptop. Best of all is its at newegg which is excellent in every aspect.
