So, Im in a bit of a pickle.

I have no will power and cannot get the 'buy shiny new stuff' bug off my back. Problem is I already have 2 pretty kick-ass gaming systems I need to sell off. How/Where is the best way to do this? E-Bay? Craigslist? Local classifieds? IDK where to start.

Your advice is appreciated.

Ebay for sure. It's hit and miss and I've had some really horrible sales performances, but equally some decent buys too.

If you have anything that is a known brand, you'll do a lot better. Also, if you own what was once a top-range part, you will still get decent cash for it now - far more than what it's actual performance is worth. I see Q6600's, E6600's, 6000+'s, 8800 ultras etc selling for stupidly high prices every day.

try everything, first one you get a good deal on, do it
i sold my old gaming rig to a friend for like $100 undercost (im a nice friend, plus we play many games together so he needed a good system)

Craiglist is good, but they seem to get more than their fair share of scammers, and generally just bad people to do business with.
It's more of a wide open carnival/midway style of a garage sale where pretty much anything goes.
Not that these things don't happen ebay as well, but ebay has better resources, like being able to track a buyer and sellers records, and whether they have proven themselves at least somewhat on the up and up.

I have never sold any of my old stuff, always give it away. Last guy did give $150 for motherboard, processor and memory, although he had to insist for like 20 minutes to get me to take it. I dunno, guess I am just too easy.

You might be able to get more by disassembling your PC and selling the parts individually on e-bay.

To sell the complete PC, try craigslist first.

I part my old builds out and use the parts for charity jobs.

branded computers should move pretty quick on ebay, custom builds you'll most likely make more parting them out.

How old is your stuff? I usually just donate my stuff to a local charity. They give me a receipt for tax purposes.

There was a guy at my workplace who would buy my old stuff, but he retired a few years ago so now I just collect stuff, to the point where my wife insists on my recycling it.

Anybody wanna buy a gen-u-wine Pentium 150MHz system oc'ed to 166 MHz?? Plays Solitaire at 60 fps!! :D

Overclock.net seems to have a pretty robust selling/trading forum going on. The only problem there is that you have to accumulate a certain number of rep points before you can post a for sale ad.

Ebay mostly for easy to ship item... if not...

Try Kijiji. I didn't wanted to ship my last computer with Fedex or Purolator, so Kijiji was nice for me because the buyer come see you in person at your house... also it's totally free, but you need a lot of patience bumping your ad or posting a new one to keep it on the first pages.

Do like I do and sell on Kijiji. You will not have to touch your hold computer to sell component by component. You also don't have to try to figure out a way to ship your whole PC or have damage during shipping.

You can also sell a little higher because the buyer don't have to pay for shipping charges. I found a buyer after one week and got pretty much the price I was asking.

Hey, Do you guys think selling stock fans that never been used that come from stock towers will sell? For Example Coolermaster 200mm red led fan? lol I dunno what to do with these fans since i replaced em w/ blue led fans lol.
