Over-clocking in Ubuntu (or derivative)

Hi.

Does anyone know how to overclock a CPU through one of the Ubuntu derivatives?

I don't mind doing some command line, or text, editing to achieve this. I understand there may not be some GUI friendly software for everything under the sun.

But... it does need to done through software, as this PC does not have any jumper/bios options for it.

First off, what type of system is it. Is it a prefabricated system like a Dell or a homebuilt system?

Im sorry to say there is no software for overclocking on ubuntu, even if there was software overclocks are unstable and I wouldn't recomend it.
Also if you can't overclock throu your UEFI/BIOS you can't overclock at all.

not entierly true mystery uefi is locked but i used CPU freq to over clock the governer changing it to preformance instead of one demand this prvoided and significant boost though im sure that there are better ways but thats the only one is know got the idea from android phones
