Forum CPU & Components : Other Components Will this bottleneck?

Hey guys, any input here would be appreciated.

I have been considering lately upgrading my graphics card (currently a msi 9600gt) though i am not sure if it would be worth it due to my cpu.

I am currently looking at the gtx260, though i won't be upgrading for some time so if the 275's come down i might jump on em.

Current specs:

XP Prof
AMD 5600+ OC to 5808
MSI 9600gt
4gig Geil copper series
550watt Rosewill PSU

also, on the same topic, is there a good rule of thumb to be aware of bottle necking?

Thanks all!

for a start ur CPU is 2.9 Ghz not 5.8Ghz if urs were my quad would be at 12Ghz :P just cause u have 2 cores doesnt mean it runs twice as fast as its rated clock speed

and yeah a gtx 260 would be bottle necked by however if ur gonna upgrade ya GPU its a good choice as im sure ull be upgrading ur CPU in ur GPU's life time.

id say ud need an e8400 3Ghz dual core or better for that card IMO

hmmm i dont know of any rule of thumb its just a feeling lol

8800 Ultra
4GB OCZ 1:1 ratio
2 x 500GB WD RAID 0

lol, actually i don't know what the Ghz is at, I just used the auto OC features from the MoBo and set it to 10%, it came back and told me 5808+ so that's what i roll with. I'm sure you would know better than me though!

Thank you for the input, it is greatly appreciated.

~~i was considering a P2 720, that way i don't have to switch the MoBo and save $$
