Q6600 for sure. If your lucky you can get that to 3.4-3.6GHz. The Pentium Architecture is ridiculously dated and used to be a HUGE bottleneck for my system. went from a Pentium D 820 OC'd to 3.85GHz to an Core 2 Duo E7400 OC'd to 4GHz and saw an enormous jump in FPS in Crysis, FarCry 2, WinRar, etc.

The Q6600 will blow away the Pentium in every way.

This is a joke, right?

No contest. Even if you underclock that Q6600 to 2.0Ghz and OC the PentiumD to the max, the Q6600 is faster.

Thanks all, basically got the pentium D for nothing with a newegg combo deal, and 10% coupon. Had saw that the chip was $999 dollars when it hit the market in 2006, the 3.73 ghz, thought it was worth the question, some of my older chips that were single core, duel core- seem to work pretty good with my older systems without all of the safistacation of today's system, Give me my windows 98" Tank! with a quick os boot and tons of games! Those were the days Now you have to be a scientist, lol I wonder how much the spyware and virus programs we have to defend our systems slow down our expensive systems anyway? Thanks all for the help, great forum.
