Forum CPU & Components : Other Components Troubleshoot hardware problem

Hi,

This is my first post, and hope my english is clear enough.

I have a pc having some problems. I am not gonna enter in big details to simplify this, but I strongly believe it has some hardware problem.

After booting makes auto restart, with safe mode options. I format it and reinstall windows but some days after comes back to auto-restarts. As long as I can see theres no Virus nor software problems.

I am a zero in hardware problems troubleshooting, the only thing I can do is to replace components and see results, but I dont have similar hardware to test.

So my question is, how can I check and find possible mal.function hw components in the PC? Any tips?

thanks

Hi webrp, welcome!

Well you can try two things: Resetting your motherboard's CMOS, and testing your memory for errors. Your mobo manual should have information on how to reset the CMOS, and you can use a tool like Memtest86 to test your memory.

Hopefully this helps, and good luck! Let us know what happens.
