Hey guys, I'm planning to spend about $1500 CDN on a new built around the ATI 4850x2. All I need is a tower and I dont need a monitor since I have a LCD TV that supports VGA and HDMI.

Can you guys help me with this build? thanks. I'm looking to build at this reseller. www.ncix.com and they also do pricematch.

ATI 4870x2 is a waste of your money if all you are going to do is run it through an LCD TV. Larger LCD monitors use a higher resolution than 720 or 1080 which is more than likely the highest resolution your LCD TV is capable of displaying.

Your title says 4870x2, and in your post it says 4850x2? So which one?

Where in Canada do you live anyway? ncix and directcanada.com are nice if you live outside of BC because then you don't have to pay PST (saves you 8%, which is over $100 if you buy like $1300 worth of parts).

Directcanada.com is also nice since they have free shipping over $300. This really is appreciated since case shipping is usually expensive!

If you aren't going to be running high resolutions then you don't need it......the whole purpose of having a 4870x2 would be to run "crazy resolutions" with higher settings.....lower resolutions with high settings doesn't require a card that powerful....which was why I said it was a waste of money in the first place.
