Sounds like you need to install your motherboard (aka chipset) drivers. Go to your computer vendor's website and download the drivers for your model.
Without any info as to what the errror is exactly, when it comes up, your hardware specs, etc... it's not easy to find a solution. If you post in the future please provide more details.
In Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, you look for the device concerned - it should have a yellow mark beside it, then right click it and go to Properties. Click the Details tab and make a note of the four characters after VEN and the four after DEV.
Go to http://www.pcidatabase.com and input those details into the VEN for Vendor and DEV for Device input boxes and hit Enter. You should be guided to the name of the manufacturer and sometimes a link to the right driver.
