Has anybody tried to put a qx9300 into the Clevo M860TU? Are any modifications or BIOS updates necessary?

I am not sure on the specifics of that laptop but usually laptops use a different socket than desktop procs do. As such it wouldn't work to put qx9300 into a laptop.

I don't think anyone here wants to spend upwards to $1k for a mobile CPU. I know I wouldn't want or need to, unless I was building a gaming laptop...and even then, the QX9300 seems a bit of overkill for a laptop.

As for whether or not the QX9300 will work with the Clevo M860TU, I think it depends on the chipset being used, and whether or not the QX9300 will need a different voltage regulator setup or not.

I doubt it will work as the TDP is 45w compared to the 25-35w on the duals.
