This mobo/cpu combination is not compatible. The motherboard is an Intel server motherboard and the cpu is an AMD desktop dual core processor using am2 socket.

Are you sure you're looking at the right thing?
That is definitely not an Intel board.

Not an Intel board at all, but still not compatible; the MB uses Socket 939, but the CPU is Socket AM2.

Zenthar beat me to it:

The motherboard is socket 939 and the processor is AM2.
Not compatible.

Zenthar and evongugg both beats me. That what I get for not refreshing before posting.

Its a socket 939 motherboard. You processor is AM2. AM2 = DDR2 IMC +940 pins. Won't work in any way shape or form with a 939 pin socket and DDR.

Could probably find some on eBay, but what what exactly are you trying to do? Sometimes it costs less to buy "newer" low-end stuff than trying to find working older stuff ...

Just wanted to see if it's possible to upgrade the CPU without buying a new board.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Some stores still hold them (like TigerDirect), but it isn't cheap. As I said before, you could probably get a better CPU AND motherboard for the price of the S939 CPU alone ...
