Get yourself one of these:

Just so you won't screw anything up with static.

What next, you'll need someone to build it for ya too? You need to do some reading.

I'd also advise you do some reading on all the parts you're looking to buy, make sure your RAM is compatible with your mobo, etc. Not only that, look up a guide on how to put your rig together without screwing anything up. Read your mobo's manual online if it's available. Learn about using your mobo's BIOS.

rumour has it that the q9550 will be dropped to the price of what the q9450 is next week (july 22). The retail version of vista has unlimited activations and can be moved to different hardware where as the oem version cannot (although there are ways).

correction i am getting the GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4 LGA mombo.

anyhow if the Q9550 drops to that price i will get it, its worth waiting out the weekend for it.

i have downloaded the mobo manaul and will do some reading. thanks guys, i'm just getting antsy to get my new rig done is all. i should read a little bit more on what i want my components to do, like over clock. will post a revised build on monday if the price of the Q9550 does drop.

Here's a pretty thorough overclocking guide:

Good luck
