Hello, I am trying to build my first gaming computer. I have a buget of up to $1700 and i was wondering what is the best preformance for that amount.

 

I have come up with this preliminary list:

-Antec Nine Hundred
-GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4

-CORSAIR 750W
-Q6600
-OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066
-Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 32mb cache
-Saitek PZ30AU Black USB Wired Standard Eclipse
-2x SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner
-ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro
-Logitech MX310
-Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit
-22"screen, need help choosing which one

Looks good.

Make sure you get the hard drive with 32mb cache, and pick up an extra drive for backup.

Upgrade your PSU to the corsair 750watt.

You might want to get the E8400 over the Q6600

I forgot to add that I will be using this computer to run photoshop, premire/ other video editing software, 3d modeling software, and games such as flight simulators(FSX and Xplane) and cod4.
I want it to be able to run the flight sims maxed out.

Why whould you recommend the e8400 over q6600?
