Hey guys ... so im going to start OC'ing my e8400 ...but first i wanna start from 3ghz and go up slowly...what voltage should my e8400 be at when its stock clocked at 3ghz? apparently my mobo (asus p5q pro) tends to over power the cpu.... so i wanna start with the voltage low and start raising the fsb until i have to raise the voltage again...is this the right method for OCing? TIA

Try setting it to 1.2, then lower it until it no longer boots. My e8500 was somewhere around 1.15v stock. Check temps with Realtemp to make sure it's not getting too hot.
