My old rig got fried through my cable modem in an electrical storm and I got to build a new one. I would like your opinions on these parts I picked out

CPU - E8400 3.0 ghz

RAM - my ddr2- 800 is still good so I'm gonna get a ddr 2 mobo and get some 1066 or 1200 later.

Mainboard - GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4, not sure about this board as there aren't many reviews for it, mabye the DQ6 is an option.

HDD - WD6400AAKS 640GB, fast, quiet, cheap, big, and runs pretty cool.

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX - 750 watt 1x 60 amp rail.

CPU HSF - TT Big Typhoon, and a TT 92 cfm fan for it.

Optical drive - old one is still good.

GPU - I'll probably go with an HD 4850 and mix it with a 4870/x2 when I get more $$$

I've been modding my case so I think i'll keep that for now.

Thanks ram :sol:

Rosewill PSUs are crap. Avoid them. A PSU is the most important part of your system. Look at the Corsair 750W or PC Power and Cooling Quad 750 instead.

That board is fine. You can also get the P5E Deluxe from Asus for around the same price.

Asrock is low end Asus stuff. Avoid it- it is not a good value with high rates of failure.
