More Information

Hi everyone
I saw this forums while i was searching for computer related stuff.
okay I want to build a new computer system i need some advice and what to buy or what not buy. I will mainly use my computer for gaming like crysis coz my old computer cries if i started to play crysis LOL :P

Here's the build

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Quad-Core or Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Quad-Core, what is better?

Motherboard: Asus Rampage Formula

VideoCard: waiting for the release of Radeon 4870 x2 1G gonna buy 2 of them and xFire them, what can u advice? Also is this motherboard good for xFire-ing coz ive seen like bottlenecking the bandwidth :P

RAM: 2x2GB Corsair XMS2 Dominator TWIN2X4096-8500, but IDK if its compatible with the motherboard, any better RAM that is compatible with the motherboard? :P; also gonna upgrade it to 8GB afterwards

Hard Drive: 1 Seagate Barracuda 250GB and 1 Seagate Barracuda 500GB, can u give me other HD best for p2p sharing coz of the reads and writes?

PSU: Corsair CMPSU-1000HX, is this crossfire capable and supports the required power of the motherboard and other components?

CPU Cooling: can anyone advise me of CPU cooling? im not planning to overclock it to 3Ghz or something, but im planning to buy Asus Triton 79 Cooler. If im planning to OC my system what CPU cooling can u advise me?:P; Also If i buy an intel processor it does come with a fan right?

LOL what else is missin'? other than the peripherals like monitor etc..

Please help me building my system, any good advice/suggestions/recommendations are more than welcome

Thank You

CPU: The Q9450 is the better CPU and probably worth the extra $60 in a high end system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115042

Motherboard: X48 is the best choice available now for reducing the bottleneck with using Crossfire with Hi-Res monitors

Video card: Right now the CrossfireX 3 or 4 GPU options are not doing very well. In fact they are terrible in most games. You'll want to be sure they've fixed the driver issues before you think about a 2x 4870x2 (quad) setup. For a 24" monitor CF 4870 should be fine.

What are you looking at for a total budget? Have any parts you want to carry forward into the new build?

With your component list.. all I can say is DROOOOL...
But the power supply seems over kill to me...

As well as a 250 and a 500 gig hard drives... why not just get a 750gig....
You can partition it into a 500gig/250gig setup.... This will save on power consumption..
