If anybody has a clue I am all ears or in this case eyes LOL!!!!!
I have a ECS 848p-a motherboard running p4 ht 2.66 fsb800 and 2gb 400 dual ddr mem but............ the bios is only reconize 512 mb of each stick. I have done every thing I know to due :pfff: what is up with this. I got this system for fixing a network so if it is trash its trash.

Have you tried to reset CMOS and reconfigure the BIOS?

Check to see if you have the latest BIOS installed and update it if not.

Try switching ram in different slots and try only 1 stick of ram or even a totally different stick or ram.

Other than that is could be a screwed board but if it runs it would still make a decent box to use to download with or general use...

yep I have tried it all and last night I upgraded the bios from the ecs web page and now it wont boot :fou: all fans come on and lights...............but no video so dont no what to do now guess I have to get new bios chip or find a kind hearted person to reprogram my chip anyway thanks for the reply :wahoo:
