This is the cheaper one and I have already used it to build my mom a work computer and I liked it.

My question is what is the biggest difference besides the ram slots, pci slots etc...?




I will be using one of these for a budget gaming system.

These boards are marketed at completely different target audiences.

The G31 chipset board is mainly for HTPC's or workstation (buisness) environment

The P43 is for budget gaming...

Off these descriptions alone you should be able to make a choice that best suits you.

From your specs id pick the P43 board, more upgradability (ie more RAM capacity, better CPU support and RAM speed support), gets rid of the uneeded intergrated video. Much better audio (including connectivity) more SATA ports more USB ports and has PCIe2.0 support.
