See my previous post, but that would be a good alternative, especially because of the modular cabling. Message edited by Avenger_K on 07-04-2008 at 12:53:48 AM |

You don't need the 520W model. 385 is definitely sufficient, though that price is rather steep. Check out the review of that line of PSUs on Anandtech. |

You're right, he doesn't need a 500Watt power supply with the rig he listed.
--------------- It's not just about how fast the rig is...its about how good the rig sounds. Odonata |

If he is running an 8600GTS, he definitely does not need a 520W PSU. The one he picked will run everything he chose just fine. Message edited by darkbob87 on 07-04-2008 at 01:42:57 AM --------------- Devin Connors Contributing Editor, Tom's Games |

Thanks a lot to everybody! I noticed that NewEgg has the 425W version of the same PRO82+ series for $99.99. This one also has additional 6/8Pins connector. Again I am not sure I need this much wattage. The only other possible upgrade I can think of would be blu-ray burner when/if this format becomes ubiquitous and prices fall to reasonable level. |
