- i cant afford the expensive MOBO. any cheaper suggestion ? is Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L ok ? coz i dun need too much feature coz i dun OC
- Do i need the CPU cooler since i might not going to OC ?
- is the RAM ok ?? it's cheap but it says its high performance ram, i dunno

If you don't overclock most of your decisions are easy.

Forget the cooler, stick with stock. If your temps are high, reseat the cooler as they can be difficult to get seated correctly. Most people will recommend you install it with the motherboard out of the case so that you can be sure the push pins are in properly.

The EP35-DS3L is a great board, even for overclocking (as long as it is a dual core as quads need beefier power circuitry for overclocking).

For RAM you can generally just get whatever is cheapest  That stuff you got there is fine.

The Gigabyte mobo you suggested is fine. I have it. It's fairly nice and would easily allow you to overclock at least to a 400MHz FSB without any real troubles or headache at all. It's not the best motherboard for fine-tuning, but you said you're not really into that.

The cooler is nice even if you're not going to overclock, just to keep your CPU cooler than the stock fan. It will also be quieter than the stock fan.

I think you can compare those two hard drives in Tom's hard drive comparison charts... if I recall correctly, the WD640 comes out ahead.

Also, SLi 8800GTs will beat out that single 4850, but unless you're playing at very high resolution, it will be overkill (this is a moot point if you're set on dumping the 750i mobo). What sized monitor do you have?

SLI means an Nvidia chipset. That's bad :kaola:

I agree about the cooler. It will definitely be quieter and cooler, although the CPU is pretty cool anyway, so noise is the only real concern.

It can use ATI cards, but not two in crossfire (the ATI equivalent of SLI).

SLI requires an nvidia chipset.
CF requires an Intel or AMD chipset.
