And if you know how to use "the Google" I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find some preliminary benchmarks on a 4870X2. They're out there in the tubes somewhere. |

ATI are sitting on a gold mine, not sure this will save AMD/ATI, but it can't hurt.

AMD makes it sound like ATI is dragging them down. With the R700 family of GPUs kicking @55, it kind of sounds like the other way around... Anywho, with the 4870x2 rolling out this quarter, hopefully they can start to see profits towards the end of the year. I need my $5 shares to make me some money. |

Something is wrong there. There is no way it it would bench so low. The cpu score pulls down overall score, but the sm2 and sm3 are too low. SM2 can somewhat be pulled down by lower cpu clock, but SM3 should be mostly independent of cpu at the high 3ghz mark. Here's benchmark from 8800gts. Notice the 6.4-6.6k shader scores. A 4870 is supposed to wipe the floor with it. --------------- Q6600@3.6ghz, GA-EX38-DS4 X38 chipset motherboard, 8gb 800mhz ddr2 4-3-3-12, 8800GTS(g92)@780mhz, 1TB 7200rpm 32mb cache hdd, 850watt 12v rails=4x20amp powersupply |

I just want to know how you got that CPU to 3.6 GHz with 4 sticks of RAM. I managed it with 2 but after that it just said 'no' and had to roll back to 3.2 |

Here's my personal benchie from 3D06 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7481500 You'll see my specs in there and I ran the full series of test to give you a better idea. (This was overclocked but I cant remember the exact figures but I did get 122 fps in 3dfur stress test (ran for 30 mins) at this OC 780/1075 @1440x900 with no MSAA Look for frenchies results in the top 100 scores

This thread got me wondering how the 3dMark06 scores change with CPU speed. I didn't have a lot of time last night so I didn't do a balls out OC but this is at least something to look at without so many variables from my above post.
