More Information

I'm looking to overclock my current system, add another 4850 vid card, and set up an additional RAID 1 configuration. The end result would be:

Intel 8400 3.0 ghz Wolfdale (which I would overclock)
Asus P5Q-Pro board
2 sticks 2g DDR2 (also may overclock)
2 ATI 4850 cards
1 SATA 500g hard drive
1 IDE 120g hard drive (7200 rpm)
2 SATA 320g hard drives (in RAID 1)
Various fans, card reader, DVD-writer, sound card, etc.

According to the calculator on www.extreme.outervision.com, this system would only draw 477 watts. Could I really get away with that little power? (In which case, I could keep my current 500w PSU)

It seems from what I've read that I would need 750 watts, minimum, for this setup. I want to make sure I have enough power, but I don't want to spend more money than I need to.

Any advice?

Edit: I should read the whole post first:)

If you get a good 600-700 power supply like PC Power & Cooling, Newegg has a great sale on the 750 for $140 with a 30 MIR
