The NZXT tempest case look very appealing, but I haven't been able to overlook one in person.  It seems very comparable to an antec 900, and comes with a buttload of fans.  Anyway, anyone have any experience with this case?  Is the air flow as good as it should be, or will I be replacing all of the 120mm fans it comes with?  I can roll down the street and pick up an antec 900 for $90, but would gladly try out the NZXT if it's a quality case.   I'd also take advise on any other cases with similar builds (mainly with psu on bottom, and alot of topside exhaust).

thanks

I would just take whichever one is cheaper. I was going to get the tempest, but frys had a 900 on sale for 75, so I picked that up. If you can get the 900 for $90 down the street, go for it. That way you save on shipping, which is quite expensive for cases. I like my 900, but I'm sure the tempest is a great case.

Here's the advantages between the 2

Antec 900
- has firewire port connection in front (no e-sata)
- has 9 external drive bays
- has 2 blue led fans on front (no led's on front of NZXT tempest)
- has switch to control fan speeds

NZXT tempest
- has e-sata front connection in front (no firewire)
- has 3 external drive bays, room for 8 internal drives.
- can put water cooling solution on top.
- has 1 led fan on side, Antec 900 has no side fans.

I personally would choose the Antec 900 unless you are using a water cooling solution.

tempest ftw imo.

i own it.

it has a better qualty feel to the build. being made of steel.

you just really need to take out the front grills for the intake fans to get the real airflow going. but it snot a hassle at all. keep in mind the tempest is around 10-20$ more expensive, but it sworth it if you change the fans which you'd probably do with the 900 anyways.

all you need is.

2 sycthe slipstrems 120mm  for intake around 1200-1600rpm
which are 9$ each on newegg.

and if you want you can change the top 2 140mm fans with an aerocool turbine for more silent and cooler operation.

otherwise its a sexyful awesome case!

the 900 is also a case which is equal to the tempest.

its just made of plastic.

so its down to this.

EDIT:
tempest comes with all 5 fans and 4 of them are neon. 1 on back 1 on side 2 in front. fyi. to pug_s

According to NZXT's website it comes with 6, i think you got ripped off.

FRONT, 2 X 120 mm Blue LED (included)
REAR, 1 X 120 mm (included)
SIDE PANEL, 1 X 120mm Blue LED (included)
TOP, 2 X 140mm Fan (included)

I didnt realise how alike they are, i always thought of NZXT cases as being ugly with flappy bits all over them. But that looks quite nice, im not big on LED fans though

i personally think antec900 looks bit better without the LED and unslanted look. but i just buoght NZXT for the better cable management (precut holes) and comparable airflow to antec900. I don't really care about the outside look of my case anyways. I might even change out most of the fans for better cooling and to get rid of LEDs.
