i noticed that round the New Intel Socket 1366, there is still the X for the 4 holes of the Cooling.
does any one knows if the are fit to the 775 cooling sizes?


i ask that coz i don't wanna waist $$$ on cooling for 775 when i know i'll buy the new platrform when the 2.66Ghz Bloomfield will come out...
it's about 5 months from now...
the cooling is thermalright 120 extreem with nactua p12 fan or the Swiftech Ultra+ Kit.
both expensive... & i don't wanna waist money on them if they won't fit the new Socket.
i prefer buying AC freezer pro 7 if they wouldn't feet the new Socket.

I think (not positive though) that they aren't the same.

Considering that the chips are a bit bigger I will say no and that they will need a new setup. I am sure they may make adapters for the current LGA 775 coolers to fit the LGA 1366 chips.

The only problem with using a LGA 775 cooler on a LGA1366 chip though is that the LGA 1366 will have a bit more IHS surface area than the LGA 775 so it would be the best idea to just get a new cooler for it.

this is my main reason not to buy a good pc (2000$) now...
buy i need a new one... i'm working with a crapy one, with 27" & 17" monitors... i can hear him cry at night ...

^well if you truly want performance then wait. Nehalem should help aliviate the bottleneck with the newer GPUs as well as help boost some gaming performance.

Small point, it is waste, not waist. A waist is a persons middle just above their hips. Amall point but well worth making.

Also, it is 'want to' not wanna and crappy not crapy.
