Greetings,

Q? Can I create a Ramdrive with extra ram over the 4gig level in Xp Pro 32bit?

Please dont hit me back with 64 bit XP/Vista, Server versions or the funky extension hack. With ram so cheap i just want to add 4 more gigs to my 2gig setup. Create a 2 gig ramdrive/swapfile.

If it matters i'm runnin a Asus p5n32sli SE deluxe mobo.

Thank you for your help

You could buy one of those PCI/PCI-E cards that allow you to install RAM on them... those act as very fast hard drives and come with the added benefit of a battery backup (albeit a short-lived one)

I'm pretty sure Tom's did a review on a couple of those things recently.

i think buying a $130+ I-RAM kinda defeats the OPs desire to add cheap swap space.

Not to mention DDR-400 (required for I-RAM) is ~$90 for 4GB (4x1GB) whereas DDR2-800 is ~$70.
