Loosing wireless connection when laptop goes to sleep or is restarted

Forum Wireless Networking : General Discussion Loosing wireless connection when laptop goes to sleep or is restarted

I have a 2 DELL laptops with visa and XP. I have a linksys G router. When ever I switch off both laptops, and restart them they do not reconnect to internet either automatically or manually. I will have to restart the router to get the reconnection. However if I one lap top is connected and I resart the other one then I can still reconnect. The same laptops and routers were working fine till I moved to a new apartment 10 days ago. Any ideas?

Sounds like some sort of interference in your new location.
Laptops may be trying to connect to another close access point.

Are there other access points near you apartment?
Try something like the NetStumbler or Xirrus utility to check the airwaves.
Try changing the wireless channel your router is using.
