I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this...

I have asus p5nd2-sli deluxe with intel pentium D 2.80ghz 800mhz fsb 2x2 mb cache, chipset is nForce4 sli intel edition. Running 2 gigs corsair ddr2 (pc2-5300). 2 geforce 6600's 128mb running sli.

I been out of town the last week in a half, so no one has touched my pc in that time frame. On the 2nd day back, my pc crashed and restarted on its own. From there it only does 1 of 3 things now.

1) CPU failed due to over clocking. (which can't be possible as I've never adjusted any settings in my bios)

2) Ram test failed repeating over and over and over.(I've tried 4 different sticks of ram in all 4 of my slots individually and in dual set up.)

3) It will make it to the windows splash screen and pause for a second before restarting, or will flash a quick blue screen before restarting. Although 2-3 times it did make it to the desktop where after about 30 seconds it just restarts immediately and begins the random selection of the previous 3 steps.

Now it only does 1 of those 3 steps randomly, never in any consistent order, usually steps 1 and 2 more frequently. I can not boot it safe mode, I can not reformat my HD. Both attempts came to a pause after about 30 seconds in.

If anyone has any idea or encountered a similiar problem what could have caused this or how to fix this problem, I'd be most grateful. Please keep in mind that I am not an advanced user. So any solutions might need little more explanation. If there is any other info I can provide please let me know. Thank you for reading.

Yep, as that's a low-quality PS, I'd bet that it has (at least partially) failed. Since you'll be needing a decent quality PS anyway, buy one and see if that fixes your problem.

Ok so update... I purchased an Antec 500w and installed it.

Only now I get the first error I had previously, "CPU failed due to overclocking" only its not every time I turn it on.

I then proceeded to reinstall windows xp. It gets about half way through the setup, then it just restarts on its own.

Anyone know what else could be wrong with my system?

it would not hurt to clear the bios. Usually done with a jumper, or you can pull the small watch battery on the board and cycle power a few times.

I'm an atheist,,thank god...

ATTENTION !! to all posters having weird booting/posting problems..
When windoze crashes ,,usually it shows an error screen and it disappears before you can read it..??WTF..???
Solution,,on the next boot just after the post process,,hit F8,you will then see an option to Not Auto Reboot upon system crash, this will give you the opportunity to see ,maybe,,what is causing the crash, had the same thing happen here, just slightly differently,,remember F8,may help you, hope this is of some small assistance..??:)
