What's a good sound card around $60-80 that works with Vista / Vista 64 and has EAX surround that most games use?

Or is there such a card in that price range?

sounds like its time to read reviews on newegg. What kind of audio hardware or speakers/amp do you plan to connect?

I'm sure you can find an X-fi Xtreme music in that price range.. check ebay. After shipping/tax/currency exchange it only cost me $55.37.

If you can spare another $10 I'd grab an Asus Xonar DX. Very solid Vista 32/64 support (can't say that for Creative) and its EAX 5 emulation is on-par with the X-Fi's ALchemy EAX 5 emulation in Vista, with the exception that the Xonar is more future proof in terms of newer positional audio techniques (seeing as EAX is fading out).

In XP, the X-Fi's technically have an advantage b/c of hardware acceleration (and EAX is native, so it won't have to emulate). With Vista's new audio structure, that advantage is gone, even more so if you have a dual/quad core, which is why I lean for the Xonar.

Now, we can harness the power of TWO DEATH STARS!

Yea, it would be hard for me to reccomend Creative, after their Vista32/64 debaccle and their atrocious customer service. If you need to spend a few extra dollars just to avoid Creative, I suggest you do it.
