Delays while playing games?

Forum Wireless Networking : General Discussion Delays while playing games?

Whenever I play WoW or Warcraft 3 I get really bad delays... I am on a wireless network. My router is Netgear RangeMax Wireless N model WNR834B v2, Firmware Version: V2.1.13_2.1.13NA. My wireless NIC is Linksys WMP54G v4. Sometimes ALL of the computers and laptops in my home cannot connect to the router. Does anyone know what's going on? My router is right next room in my office and it's placed right on top of my desk. The router currently does not use any security settings. It is set to channel 10 and mode 54Mbps, (other modes are 130Mbps and 270Mbps).

Try setting the channel setting to auto, and also, you could try the higher modes to see if you get any better connections, however, on wireless is not always best for gaming. Your router should also be a mini switch, if possible, try running a wire to your desktop from the router or move the router, and get your computer wired to it, see if that lag doesn't clean up a bit.

Try disabling the Wireless Zero Configuration.
