Hi, im buying a p5k board for a mild q6600 overclocking. Not sure which to buy. Im between the p5k Pro, the p5k-e wifi/ap and the p5k deluxe wifi/ap.
Is there any differences in performance between these boards? I can only see eSata and a couple of usb and firewire ports as a difference. I really dont care of Raid and eSata and coaxial digital sound is enough for me. Is there any overclokcability/performance difference or only those aditional specs?
Thank you all,

pajarot

Hello and welcome to the forums mate :)

Between the P5K series the best bang for buck is P5K-E WIFI, here is the reasons:

P5K-E WIFI is exactly equal to the more expensive P5K DELUXE, with only 2 differences, it has one less gigabit lan and one less copper which aren't very important.

Also P5K-E WIFI has better cooling tha P5K and P5K-E (Non WIFI)

And between P5K-E WIFI and P5K PRO, well they are both good boards and they have actually the same specs,it seems that P5K-E WIFI is cheaper so i say go for it

In this forum i am one of the P5K-E WIFI proud owners its a solid board :)

hope this helped

Hi Maziar, thanks for the fast reply. Didnt know about the differences inside the p5k-e line. I had the e wifi as a favourite so thanks for confirming :) .
What leaves me with a doubt though is that in newegg the pk5 pro is 30 or 40 dollars cheaper than the p5k-e wifi.
If anyone knows more specifically about the p5k pro, insight would be welcome!
Cheers,

Ignacio

+1 on P5K-E WIFI
It was my board of choice before I saw how cheap GA-P35-DS3L were.

Hey guys, thanksfor replies. Im pretty much sold with the p5k-e wifi but hve one last doubt. I was gonna buy initially a 8800gt and i just saw the new atis, andwas thinking about buying a 4850 which seem to perform alot better and cost only 30 bucks more. Thing is that they have a combo in newegg which includes a 4850 and a P5Q Pro with a 30 dollar discount which means getting the P5Q for 120 bucks!
What do you guys think about it?
Cheers,

Ignacio
