Last night i was update my abit IP35-Pro bios to the newer version (16), after finish update the bios, as usually clear cmos. Boot up again and in the bios my cpu temp is showing 71C, i think is something wrong but i don't take it to much worries. Then start entering windows, in the uGuru utility my Q6600 core temp showing 75C (at idle). Whoa... wait a minute there... definitely is something wrong and i don't know what!!! using the old bios (14) at idle stay 20C - 21C. But now 75C with no oCed!!! that scared the hell out of me!!! |

I had that problem with a different motherboard. Going back to a previous version of the Bios solved that problem. --------------- Scruze my English! |

In other words, it is a defective bios, rather than your processor overheating most of the time.
