Do you have anything else on that IDE cable? I remember a while back where windows was having a problem with a HD that simply worked, but it turned out I had another device that it didn't like, which was my LS-120 drive from some odd reason on the same chain cable/channel. When you install Windows, are you hitting F6 and loading the SATA driver from diskette? Some motherboards let you set the SATA into IDE emulation. Have you disabled the RAID controller?
