Hi,

Right so im having abit of a problem with Windows Vista (Anybody suprised??!) Anyway.... I have 2 sticks of Corsair XMS2 memory, its DDRII PC26400. Them problem is my vista rating for my memory. Its only getting a 4.8 which is my lowest subscore. My system should be at least a 5 - 5.3 (which is my CPU). My specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHZ stock
2GB DDRII PC2-6400
Intel DP965LT Motherboard
Radeon HD 3870 PCi-E

I have gone into my bios and the memory mode is set to dual channel, and the sticks are in the right slots but still with the 4.8.

Can anybody help, or point me in the right direction? This probably isnt even an issue, my machine runs fine, plays all the games I want it to and is brilliant for video encoding. I may be wrong but I feel im missing out on a little speed with such a low rating for supposed 'Performance' memory.

Maybe you should consider upping it to 4GB?

Vista is a bit of a memory whore.
RAM is cheap. Double what you have and go from there.

I have tried 4GB using 4 of the same sticks (i borrowed 2 XMS2 sticks from my brothers machine) and still got 4.8 but I am only using 23-35% of my usual 2GB so the usage is not an issue.

The XMS2 memory is performance memory which should be getting a rating of 5 or higher from reading around the internet, but mine is only at 4.8.

Run CPU-z and find out what you memory is running at.
Then if not at it's top spec adj bios to fit.

My memory is 4-4-4-12 does this mean i can run it?? My memory is DDRII 800MHZ but this mentions 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 only for DDRII 800?? confused.
