So I'm upgrading my computer with:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115037

ABIT IP35 Pro
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813127030

Now, I want to be able to overclock the E8400 to at least 4.0ghz.
What RAM should I buy from newegg??

to get 4.0ghz you'll need a fsb of 445, which means 890 memory, you have two options, either get 800 and overclock, or get something like 1066 and downclock, now as you may know 1066 is just 800 that's be OCed but at least you're for sure garanteed that it'll work and also the prices are becoming closer to one another so depending on sales you can get 1066 for the price of 800 (though the only difference would be the garantee that it'll work.

It is a very newb question, which is why I ask it.

So the 800 RAM you posted "should" overclock to 890?

Theoricaly speaking yes if you loosen the timing you should optain 890 easily though there is always the chance you get a lemon, it all depends on how you value your time, you can spend 10-15$ extra buying the 1000 or send 10-15 mins extra tuning the 800, I personally don't know how easy/hard it is

I bought the 800-cas 5 ones... figured I don't need really good ram if I want to OC it to just 890mhz, when some people push this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820146731 to 1000mhz.
