I am using the same board, I didn't use standoffs and its fine... I dont have any idea why yours wont work. I forgot to plug in the 12v ATX at first and thats why mine didnt work, then i figured out that im retarded. do you get any beeps or fans or anything when you power up? Is the switch on on your psu?

If all your power connectors to the board are connected properly and the switch is power switch/reset switch and so forth are wired correctly. i would work backwards and try and disconnect things so that you have just the basic setup - ram, cpu board and gfx card - does this work? if not i would then remove each stick of ram- to see if there are any signs of life. I always use standoffs and check for shorts.
i always build all my pcs out the case first to check that everything is ok
