Looks good, nice and furute proof with Tri-SLI, (as we knew already) but I didn't know it was that much longer, and under inspection of my motherboard, which is only normal SLI, I'd need a new one given the SATA port issues, I hadn't thought of that before.

I'm looking for a nice card set up, and I think I'll go for two 8800GTs.

£125 each is a bargain and GTXs are gonna be around £215 I think, or that's what I saw some early ones at. When I look for a future set up, I'd need a tr-SLI motherboard and a new PSU, so the money lost from selling my GTs and buying 3 GTXs won't be so bad as buying 2 more GTXs.

Around 10% better than the Ultra at $300+ isnt too bad, as last year at this time, you couldnt hardly touch a 8800GTS320Mb for the same price

Agreed, it's the price that makes it so appealing, but these results are better than I had expected too.

Im satisfied and this card overclocks like a beast it was pushed to 9800GTX 820/2078/2460 (http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/ [...] ?t=1916437)
just with stock alone wonder what i could push it with my watercooling system and maybe a little voltage mod.

How do people feel about this card over the 8800GTS (G92)?

I bought an EVGA one about a month ago and now I wonder if it is even worth using the step-up program. I think that $ for $ I would be better buying a better after-market cooler and overclock my current card.

Well i had the 8800gts g92 and i ordered the 9800gtx.
The card is faster then an 8800gts g92 and overclocks much more. some guy got his 9800GTX at 820/2078/2460 stock!. now you cant do that even with a after market cooler you still wont get those speeds with an 8800gts g92. May i ask how much extra you have to pay for step up?

I think it's the difference in retail price + both way shipping. I think it might end-up costing a bit less than 100$ :-/

I don't think Id step-up to a 9800gtx from an 8800gts g92, especially with the cost of shipping. If you bought it reasonably recently, maybe you'll be able to step-up to the new cards if they come out in july, since evga tends to do step-up extensions at the release of the new stuff.

Oh hmm i dont no if 100$ is worth the upgrade. If it was around 60 i would but about 100$ i don think its worth it. The performance difference is 10% 15% from the 8800gts g92.

Tom's review of the 9800 GTX gives me the feeling that nVidia is holding back the 8800 GTS (G92) with their drivers. How can a card 4% behind in raw performance perform ~15% worse in most games? Maybe some 3rd party drivers are needed.

They have drivers on Guru3D I think, I might give them a try tonight.

Hey look at the ati2900xt so much raw power
worse then any of nvidia high end 8800 cards.

The 9800gtx, read somewhere it compresses data better then the 8800series.
i dont think they can fix that for the 8800gts g92 with drivers just my opinion could be wrong.
