Just want to say I just repaired a Philips I-Qon pc..

Reason for failure - Trashed Hard Disk...

Reason for Trashed hard disk .... 512mb ram.. with shared graphics...

OS Vista Home Premium...........

Good grief, who on earth designed a pc with vista on that has 512mb ram and shared graphics....

No wonder the hard disk is knackered, it comes with a Pentium D 2.8GHz CPU...

What a POS...

It had a IDE 250 GB in it too... Best bit she paid £600 from a catalogue....

its a little more complicated than that

i am a subcontractor for the contractor who works for an insurance company that covers the extended warranty on some of these bought from a specific retailer.

if that makes sense :)

Isn't 512mb the BARE minimum required to even run vista? That has to be aweful. XP is slow with 512mb (at least once you install a lot of modern stuff :P), so I really can't imagine boot times, page file, et cetera on Vista with 512 RAM. :O

Hard Drive rape for sure..

Do you know what...

The best bit was i couldnt even put the pm890 shared video card driver on it. Just wouldnt play ball...

How slow was it.... Very very slow..

I actually felt sorry for her ( although her having a sexy tattoo on the bottom of her back had nothing to do with it).

I gave her a cheap video card and a 512mb ddr 2 ram stick....

Got all her uni work back tho.....
i
Honestly, I thought the other manufacturers were bad, but I-Qons are the worse.. I am officially putting them ahead of Dell, Time, Tiny etc ... thats it im gonna do a poll..
