If anyone can give me suggestions it would be much appreciated. I just got an ECS (Elitegroup) motherboard A780GM-A Black edition.

i would guess that you have a faulty board since it still fails with no overclock. if you just bought it, ask for RMA. |

Did you go into smart mode and disable the GPU drivers? Im not sure why you would want to change the memory settings other than installing a stand alone card. If your wanting to use a stand alone GPU first disable the integrated drivers in smart mode. Restart your system and enter bios to change the memory. Restart from bios and the system should then pick up a stand alone GPU. |

ECS boards are low-end, so I wouldn't expect to successfully overclock with them. What exactly are your goals here?

rc - the review in your link says the ECS board is not good for overclocking. I wrote "...so I wouldn't expect to successfully overclock with them."
