your cpu score probably isn't that great, that score seems fine if you dont have a top of the line cpu..for reference i get 11000 with an E6300@2.8 and one 8800gt.

Depending on your CPU and what its running at, it seems about right for the setup. I have basically the exact same setup with slight OC's to default components. Granted C2Q's give much higher CPU scores than a C2D, but if your running a Q6600 @ stock... then your score will suffer. Try OCing your quad to 3ghz or higher and watch your score skyrocket.

Btw... 3D mark scores really are an e-peen business. All it does is show how well your system is configured. Overall system performance will have a bigger impact on score than just having 2 gfx cards and an OC'ed CPU.

I say, if your games run smooth, with no lag or artifacting.... who really cares much about 3dmark?

No... why take your computer apart because of an artificial score? what's your favorite game? Does (insert previous answer here) play well? If the answer to that is yes then just let well enough alone.

Its a benchmark. Thats all. I could care less about getting my score higher and saying "I have a higher 3d mark score than you do!". Its just a comparison so when people like the OP of this thread have somthing to compare it to. Yes, it does say if somthing is wrong with your system if you have a low score compared to others with about the same setup... but getting a 1k score difference really doesnt show anything wrong with the system.

Very true, 1K up or down is not that big a deal but 3Dmark06 is a good tool to get an indication if your rig is performing up to snuff compared to others similar to yours. It can point to fine tuning, or one or two slow components or some major problem.

In his case it sounds like SLI is not working. His score is good for one card on a Q6600 if not overclocked but should be close to 15,500-16,000 I would think with two. This has alerted him to the possibility of a major config error. So in this regard 3Dmark06 is a good tool.
