Hello guys,my vendor suggested me mobo Abit IP35-E and Q6600 or E8400 Intel CPU.He is also expert in all these but i think i should ask u guys also.
I never used abit in life so i need your suggestion with this board and cpu.According to him this is world class board which can be overclocked too.I used asus for 4 years but always had so kind of problem with different boards.
so suggest me is this right choice Abit IP35-E and which cpu Q6600 or E8400

If you overclock, it's fine with q6600. P35 chipset(all brands, not just Abit) will bottleneck e8400 due to fsb wall. If you don't overclock, it's fine.

 

Asus is overrated. ASUSTek is based in Taiwan, with factories in mainland China. Not sure why people think it's high quality, since Made in China certainly isn't associated with high quality. Not saying it's bad, just that there's no reason to pay extra for it.

I got my IP35-E from newegg for USD 70 after mir. I have an old intel 640 running in it. The MB does have a double boot problem, and the bios doesnt like the 640; requires me to hit F1 to start!! Otherwise no problems.

More - I use an Abit AB9PRO for my wifes PC with a 6750 at stock. No problems with this one either.

Haven't used an Intel variant, but I had an Abit Skt 754 board and my current board, both are rock solid.
