Has anyone else had this problem?
I bought 4Gig of Kinston HyperX PC9600 (1200MHz) RAM.
Problem is when I check in bios it says 800MHz and when I run CPU-Z it states PC6400.
Which would seem to support my misgivings.
The stickers on the RAM clearly state PC9600.
I think I've been duper.
I'm running Vistas 64bit, is there a program out there I can triple check with?
Many thanks
Sgt.Bilko.

There is no JDEC spec for any memory faster than 800 MHZ. Performance memory designed to run at faster speeds is therefore technically "Factory Overclockable". So what you need to do is go into your Bios and manually set the speeds, timings, and voltages your memory maker says the stuff will run.

Scotteq's right. the maximum standard for ddr2 is 800mhz. BUT softwares like cpu-z should indicate correct model and type by showing at least PC9600 memory. Oh and you need to disable the auto-detect memory timings in the bios because it won't put the right timmings for your RAM since it exceeds JEDEC specifications.
