Hi folks.
I have started to develop problems with my ram and after finding a supplier for a replacement i asked them whether the RAM i had selected would be compatable with my MSi KT3 ultra 2ce motherboard. They replied saying that it was not and suggested i buy "1GB PC3200 DDR Memory RAM DDR400 - LOW DENSITY" (i had picked out High density and apparently my motherboard only accepts low density)
I replied to make sure this would work as my motherboard supports up to "2700 DDR 333MHz" and was told don't worry the PC3200 is backwards compatible. My question is... is this correct and will it mean i will have to make changes in the bios to get it to run. I just want to plug it in and have it work i am not keen on touching my bios settings as i have very little knowledge of how it works and what i am doing.
Thanks for any advice.
Yes, ram should have no problem running at lower than native specs. It should default to the lower speed without you changing anything. Leave it on auto.
