How do I make sense of SFC?

Forum Windows Vista : General Discussion How do I make sense of SFC?

My computer has been having problems after booting up. I've recently discovered the System File Checker and it states that it has made repairs to corrupt files.
After opening the CBS file in my sandbox program (thanks to it saying I have no access to it even though i'm the admin "/facepalm windows" ) I can not tell if it made any real repairs or not. I love the 200 pages of letters, but is there any way of knowing what it has done other then moved files around?

I guess turning it on tomorrow will tell me if it made any difference or not. (It only acts up when given hours of rest, which makes me wonder if turning it on in the morning is causing some due or fog to film up on the hardware inside the case as it warms up from the running parts?)
