Hello,
I sure hope someone can help me out, my hp dv9628nr vista seagate momentus harddrive laptop started acting up last week, the screen would get horizontal lines in it and go blank. after running a diagnostic on it i got a "harddrive failed" message. i bought a new harddrive another momentus but a little larger capacity. upgraded from 120 gig to 500. when i installed it and tried to boot it up, it says "operating system not found". this is using the restore discs. I cannot find anybody out there with a similar situation

Go into the Bios and check your boot order.Put hdd first.
