More Information

Hello,

first post here.

Recently re-vamped my system.

CPU: E2180
MB: Biostar Tforce 945p v2
MEM: Corsair Dual Channel (2x1gb) 667
PSU: 450w
Fan: Golden Orb II
HDD: sata 320gb Seagate Barracuda.
Vid card: Nvidia 6800

The reason for the post is i am having some problems o/c this combo

With the board ( I have o/c options in the bios) I cannot go higher than 235FSB, if I do the sata drive is no longer recognized.

I have set the PCIe freq to 100mhz and pci to 33mhz. but I am not sure if the board is not keeping those values.

My next step is going to be the BSEL mod for the e2180 and then trying to up the FSB from bios slightly again.

Please let me know if there is something I am missing or doing wrong.

Thanks!

Kalvin

1. Get a better motherboard. The P35-DS3L is a good board for OCing that E2180 and it's only $80.

2. BSEL is possible but you will also probably need to do a voltage mod too. Because with just the BSEL it won't pass Prime95 8+hrs.

Thanks for the compliment.

Last night I was messing more with this.
The temp on the cpu was a little higher than stock but looked okay.

I played WOW on full settings for about an hour with no issues.
Then launched DVD santa in the background and the system reset.

I restarted, and ran prime95 auto test for about 8 primary tests and the system locked up.

Went into bios and upped the Vcore by .5.

Lol now the system won't boot :o

Okay just got it back. Upped the Vcore to 1.46. We'll see how prime95 does now.

Tried also going to 330FSB but losing HDD again.
